Liveplay & Tabletop ExercisesThe European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Department (previously DG Echo)funds a number of exercises and trainning programmes every year. To this aim, a call for proposals for full-scale & module exercises as well as for a variety of training events are published every year.
These events are usually organised by civil protection authorities of the relevant country and co-financed by the EU. Field and table-top exercises are organised under the supervision of the European Commission and are conducted to improve preparedness and enhance collaboration among European civil protection authorities and teams.
Events aim to provide an opportunity for training and testing specific response capacities, as well as the self-sufficiency, interoperability, coordination and procedures of response teams and equipment. Table-top exercises, in turn, focus on in-depth training of key personnel.
Civil Protection exercises and training events provide valuable learning opportunities for all involved in operations under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Network provides top trainers and evaluators to make each programme be the best it can possibly be!
